Former Buffalo standout and two-time All-Mid-American Conference selection Dan Bulley joined the Western Michigan men’s soccer coaching staff in August 2010. As an assistant with the Brown & Gold, Bulley will be involved in day-to-day operations of the program, work closely with the Bronco strikers and help facilitate youth camps.
2011:
Bulley helped Western Michigan make its second straight appearance in
the Mid-American Conference game in 2011, as Western Michigan defeated
then-defending national champion Akron in the tournament semifinals. WMU
also posted a regular-season signature win over Michigan, defeating the
Wolverines for the first time ever in Ann Arbor. The Broncos produced
two Second Team All-MAC honorees and three MAC All-Tournament Team
selections.
2010:
Bulley has been part of the rebuilding process at Western Michigan, which has seen the Broncos return to the upper echelon of the Mid-American Conference. WMU had one of the most successful seasons in school history in 2010, reaching the conference tournament championship for just the third time ever and finishing as runners-up in the regular season, only behind national champion Akron. The Broncos posted an overall record of 10-8-2, going 4-2-0 in MAC play, and finished the year ranked No. 10 in the Great Lakes Region.
OTHER EXPERIENCE:
Bulley also serves the Director of Coaching and Player Development for the Red Arrow Soccer Club in Paw Paw, Mich. With boys and girls teams spanning from the U9 to U19 levels, Bulley oversees the coaching cadre, developing technical training programs and RASC summer camps.
PLAYING EXPERIENCE:
Bulley was a three-year starter at Buffalo from 2007 to 2009 after playing his freshman season at West Texas A&M. He led his teams in scoring each of his first three seasons, amassing 27 goals and 11 assists for 65 points in his collegiate career.
A midfielder, Bulley scored nine goals and four assists as a freshman at Division II West Texas A&M, before transferring to Buffalo as a sophomore. Making an immediate impact his first season in the MAC, Bulley led the conference in goals (8), points (19), points per game (1.06) and shots per game (3.56), earning First Team All-MAC recognition in 2007. He followed with a team-best six goals and 13 points as a junior, collecting Second Team All-MAC and MAC All-Tournament Team honors. Bulley capped his career with four goals and three assists as a senior, including a game-winning double overtime goal against Western Michigan. He left UB ranked eighth all-time in career goals.
Bulley played for Great Britain at the World University Games in 2007 and 2009 and was a member English club academy teams Yeovil Town and Plymouth Argyle. During the summer of 2008, Bulley played for the Kalamazoo Outrage of the Premier Development League (PDL), where he wore the captain’s band.
PERSONAL:
A native of Exeter, England, Bulley graduated with a degree in sociology from Buffalo in 2010.
