Justin Penna

Justin Penna joined the Western Michigan Athletics staff as an equipment manager for the hockey program in September of 2015.

A native of Saugus, Calif., Penna graduated from Western Michigan University in 2014 with a degree in athletic training. He is also a graduate with a master's of business administration in 2020.

Penna served as the equipment manager along side Pat Ferschweiler (who served as head coach) for Team USA during the 2019 Gretzky Hlinka Cup. The tournament was played Aug. 5-10 in Pieštany, Slovakia & Breclav, Czech Republic, with the U.S. competing alongside Canada, the Czech Republic, Finland, Russia, Slovakia, Sweden and Switzerland. 

Penna was also equipment manager for the 2020 Winter Youth Olympic Games which took place from January 9-22, 2020, in Lausanne, Switzerland. The U.S. Youth Olympic Team went 3-1 to earn silver.

During his time as a student at Western Michigan, Penna helped the hockey team with its equipment needs, starting in September of 2012.
