Manny Patterson joined the Western Michigan men's basketball staff as its Director of Player Development in June of 2026. The 2026-27 campaign is slated to be his first with the Broncos.

A native of Chicago, Patterson arrived in Kalamazoo after spending a pair of seasons coaching at Francis W. Parker High School. In his second season, he helped developed three All-Conference selections and the ISL Player of the Year. He also ran the MP Skills Academy in the area.

Patterson joined the coaching ranks after finishing up an accomplished playing career, which included professional stops in Finland, Austria, Spain and Sweden. He played five seasons of college basketball, starting out at Green Bay before concluding his collegiate experience at SEMO, where he played for current WMU assistant coach Dustin Yoder.

Patterson graduated from Southeast Missouri State in 2021.Â
