Jake Alburtus

Western Michigan alum Jake Alburtus joined the men's basketball staff in the summer of 2025. The 2025-26 campaign will be his first back with the Broncos.

Alburtus returned to his alma mater after spending the prior two seasons as the Recruiting and Operations Coordinator at Georgia Tech. While with the Yellow Jackets, he assisted with daily program operations, produced all of the program's recruiting content, assisted in the planning and coordination of all on-campus recruiting visits and managed the team's social media platforms. During his time in Atlanta, he was part of the recruitment of back-to-back classes which were ranked in the top-20 in the country by Rivals.com.

Prior to Georgia Tech, Alburtus was a graduate assistant for two seasons at the University of Arkansas. During his time in Fayetteville, he assisted with program operations, opponent scouting, film breakdown and designing creative content for recruiting and social media purposes. In his two seasons with the program, the Razorbacks went to back-to-back Sweet 16s and made the 2022 Elite Eight. On the recruiting side, he assisted in reeling in the No. 2 ranked class in the country, which included three 2023 NBA Draft picks (Anthony Black, Nick Smith Jr. and Jordan Walsh).

While he was a student at Western Michigan, Alburtus was a student manager for four years with the Bronco men’s basketball team. While in college at WMU, he served as a camp coach for Steve Wojciechowski at Marquette, Anthony Grant at Dayton and Greg Kampe at Oakland. He also spent time as a camp coordinator for a number of Breakthrough Basketball camps throughout the Midwest during his time at WMU.

A native of Lawrence, Mich., Alburtus graduated from WMU in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in Sport Management and a minor in Coaching. He earned a master's degree from the University of Arkansas in Adult and Lifelong Learning in 2023.
