Adam Howard joined the Western Michigan men's basketball program as its director of operations in April of 2026. The 2026-27 season is set to be his first with the Broncos.
Howard arrived with new WMU head coach Kahil Fennell after serving one year as his director of operations at UTRGV. During their year together in Texas, the Vaqueros racked up 19 wins and reached the Southland Conference Tournament semifinals, where they lost to eventual champion McNeese in triple overtime.
Before joining Fennell at UTRGV, Howard spent six years at his alma mater, Indiana, where he worked his way up through the program. As an undergrad, he worked four seasons as a student manager for the Hoosiers, including serving as the head student manager for his senior year (2021-22). At the 2022 NCAA Final Four in New Orleans, he was recognized as the National Student Manager of the Year by the Grow the Game manager community.
He was then a graduate manager for two seasons (2022-24) and was part of the Indiana staff which helped the team reach the second round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament and saw a pair of players drafted in the 2023 NBA Draft in Jalen Hood-Schifino and Trayce Jackson-Davis. Howard was named to the 2024 NXT Up-Men's Support Staff list by Silver Waves Media before earning a promotion to become the director of recruiting and operations prior to the start of the 2024-25 campaign.
Howard is a two-time graduate of IU, owning a bachelor's degree in Sport Marketing and Management and a master's in Kinesiology in Athletic Administration and Sports Management.
