Tim Cooper was hired in December 2022 by head coach Lance Taylor as an assistant coach to handle the Broncos' safeties.
Cooper came to Kalamazoo after four seasons as the defensive coordinator at the University of Indianapolis. Under Cooper, UIndy's defense was one of the best in Division II and finished eighth in the nation in sacks per game in 2021.
Cooper also spent two seasons with the Pitt as a defensive quality control coach.
Cooper earned a degree from DePauw University, where he was a four-year letterwinner in football.
