Nick Faus

Nick Faus joined the Western Michigan staff in July of 2017 and serves as an offensive graduate assistant, working primarily with the team’s skill positions. During the 2018 and 2019 seasons, Faus was primarily with the team's defensive units.

During his three years on staff, the Broncos have totaled 20 victories, two bowl game appearances and 32 All-Mid-American Conference selections. Western Michigan has had the most all-league honorees since 2017 and also pace the MAC in academic all-conference selections during the span with 53. WMU’s 13 MAC Distinguished Scholar Athletes are also the most in the league.

The 2019 defense had a breakout year, holding opponents to just 25.9 points per game to stand second in the league. The mark was the best for the program since yielding 19.8 in 2016. Western Michigan finished the 2018 season ranked 10th in the league, surrendering 34.5 points per contest.

The Broncos also went from 12th in the league in pass efficiency defense (160.69) in 2018 to seventh (136.70). Western Michigan exceptionally stout in pass defense during the latter portion of the 2019 campaign, holding three of its final five opponents to less than 150 passing yards. Sending pressure from all over the field in 2019, the Broncos finished third in the MAC in tackles for loss per game (6.5) and second in sacks per game (2.8).

Prior to his coaching career, Faus was a four-year quarterback (2013-16) at St. Joseph’s College. He received his bachelor’s degree in exercise science from St. Joseph’s in 2017.
