Mike McCarthy joined the Western Michigan football program as the video coordinator in August of 2010. He handles all video-related duties for the Bronco football program, including practice footage cut ups and serving as the team's liaison to all opponents in terms of video sharing. 

McCarthy manages a staff of student assistants filling highlight requests as needed.  He works with the DV Sports systems in order perform the aforementioned duties while also utilizing to prepare the coaching staff's presentations to the team.

McCarthy joined the Broncos after serving as a video, coaching and scouting intern with the New York Jets.  He prepared meetings and coaching presentations on Huddle and XOS, while also capturing and pulled cut ups of practice.

Prior to working in the NFL, McCarthy served as the football video assistant at Rutgers from 2007-10.  He also coached at his alma mater during the 2006 season, serving as the junior varsity outside linebacker coach at Widener.  McCarthy also coached at the College of New Jersey in 2009, serving as the offensive line coach.

McCarthy (26/DOB: 6-25-85) is a 2007 graduate of Widener University where he served as the team's linebacker and long snapper.  He earned a bachelors of science in business administration with a concentration in sports management.  McCarthy is also a member of the American Football Coaches Association.

The East Brunswick, N.J., native married the former Catherine Hayes on July 8, 2011.  Both reside in Kalamazoo.
