A native of Orlando, Fla., Michael Brewster was a four-year starter at center at The Ohio State University from 2008-11. During Brewster's career, the Buckeyes won three Big Ten Championships, the 2010 Rose Bowl and the 2011 Sugar Bowl. Brewster started 49 consecutive games and was named a First Team All-American by the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) in 2011, as well as a Freshman All-American by the FWAA in 2008. He twice collected All-Big Ten honors and served as the Buckeyes' team captain as a senior.

After graduating with a bachelor's degree in strategic communications in 2011, Brewster began his professional football career with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Brewster played three credited NFL seasons before retiring due to injury.

Brewster began his coaching career working with high school offensive lineman and joined the Western Michigan coaching staff as an offensive line graduate assistant prior to the 2018 season.
