Drew Robinson

Drew Robinson is in his third season as Director of Football Operations and adds the title of Assistant Athletic Director in 2019 for Western Michigan. Robinson came to the Broncos after serving in operations, recruiting and marketing roles at Syracuse and Rutgers Universities.

In his role with the Broncos, Robinson oversees the non-coaching activities of the WMU Football program. This includes the football budget, off-field personnel and staffing, recruiting, academics, team travel, summer camps, special projects, and all other day-to-day operations. In addition, he serves as the Broncos liaison to the National Football League. Robinson also serves as the football program’s liaison to University Administrative units and all other units within the WMU Athletics Department.

Robinson comes to Kalamazoo after working with Rutgers IMG College Sports Marketing in 2016. While there he was responsible for securing and managing corporate partnerships for Rutgers Athletics.

At Syracuse, Robinson was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the program, including the overall management of the football budget, team travel, bowl-game coordination, and the Scott Shafer Football Camps. In addition, he was responsible for game day management and the coordination and planning of events and special projects related to the football program.
     
Before going to Syracuse, Robinson filled many roles at Rutgers University, including working as the assistant athletics director for creative and fan experience in 2014. In that position, he was responsible for the implementation of the digital and creative marketing plans while overseeing the creative services department. His work did not go unnoticed as he was selected by the Big Ten Conference to help produce the league’s 2014 championship game.
     
From 2012 to 2014, Robinson worked as the Scarlet Knights’ director of branding and social media where he was tasked with maintaining the brand identity for the Rutgers football and men’s and women’s basketball teams.
     
In October 2009, Robinson left college athletics to become the high school partnerships manager for MSG Varsity. As partnership manager, he managed relationships with 40 high schools in Cablevision’s footprint, while assisting in content creation and overall brand management for the newly created network.
     
Robinson began his career in intercollegiate athletics as the Rutgers football operations assistant in 2007. He was responsible for planning and coordinating home and away game travel while serving as the liaison between Rutgers football and the NFL. After six months in that role, Robinson was promoted to assistant director of recruiting where he helped bring in the highest-rated recruiting class in school history in 2009.
     
A native of Berkeley Heights, N.J., Robinson holds a bachelor’s degree in policy studies with a minor in political science from Syracuse.
