Personal: Son of Ray and Patricia Thoma ... both parents attended Western Michigan ... a three-time All-MAC selection, his father Ray played baseball for the Broncos from 1980-82 and was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in 1982, going on to play professionally for the A's and Chicago Cubs organizations ... pre-communications major.
