JP Maracani

JP Maracani enters his second year a volunteer assistant coach with the Bronco baseball team in 2017. The 2015 Spring Arbor graduate will bring youthful energy and excitement to the staff as he takes over in head coach Billy Gernon’s sixth year at the reins.

"JP is a very passionate individual,” said Gernon. “He was a lock down center fielder as well as an outstanding offensive player for Hall of Fame Coach Sam Riggleman at Spring Arbor. JP is full of energy and enthusiasm and is wired to coach and teach. It goes without saying that we are excited to add him to our coaching staff.”

Maracani was a four-year starter and standout for the Cougars, twice earning First Team All-Crossroads League honors as well as a First Team National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) All-American nod in 2014. He hit .382 with 42 RBIs, 49 runs and 15 stolen bases in just 50 games in garnering First Team NCCAA All-American, All-Crossroads League and NCCAA Midwest All-Region Player of the Year accolades as a junior. As a senior in 2015, Maracani hit .314 with seven home runs, 25 total extra-base hits and 37 RBIs, earning a spot on the All-Crossroads League Team for the second straight year.

Before attending Spring Arbor, Maracani was a four-year starter at Pinckney High School. He was a two-time all-region and all-conference selection and earned first team all-state honors as a senior in 2011.
