Adam Goodwin

Adam Goodwin enters his first year on the Western Michigan baseball staff in 2019 after arriving in August of 2018. Goodwin will be working closely with the outfielders and hitters while also assisting with the Broncos short-game and base running.

Goodwin comes to Western Michigan from Saginaw Valley State University (NCAA DII) where he served as an Assistant Coach from 2016-2018. At SVSU, Goodwin was involved in all facets of the program and worked with the Cardinals infielders and hitters. In his time at SVSU the Cardinals saw an increase in offensive production each year in a number of different offensive categories. Goodwin assisted in the development of seven All-GLIAC players from 2016-2018.

In the summer months from 2013-2018, Goodwin served as an Assistant Coach for American Legion Baseball program Midland Berryhill Post 165 under Steve Cronkright where he helped lead the program to five State Championships, four Regional Championships, four American Legion World Series berths with a ALWS Runners-Up finish in 2014.

During his tenure on staff, he aided in the development of former Bronco standouts Keegan Akin (Baltimore Orioles 54th overall pick – 2016 MLB Draft) and Connor Smith (Cleveland Indians 30th round pick – 2018 MLB Draft). Goodwin also coached at his alma mater Midland High School for the 2014 and 2015 seasons under the direction of Eric Albright.

Goodwin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Saginaw Valley State University. His brother Alex Goodwin (2016-2017) was a part of the first ever Mid-American Conference Tournament Championship in program history as they advanced to the 2016 NCAA Regional at Louisville which included Louisville, Wright State and Ohio State. Goodwin currently resides in Kalamazoo.
