PRE-GAME NOTES:
- This is the 53rd all-time meeting between Western Michigan and Eastern Michigan
- WMU captains: Chukwuma Okorafor, Andre Turner, Stefan Claiborne. Broncos win the coin toss, elect to defer.
 
FIRST QUARTER:
- Darius Phillips records a PBU; Sam Beal, Stefan Claiborne and Malik Rucker all with a TFL
 
SECOND QUARTER:
- QB Jon Wassink career-long 27-yard rush
- Derrick Mitchell 63-yard punt his third 60-plus yard punt of the season
- LB Caleb Bailey forces fumble, Davontae Ginwright recovers – WMU’s eighth fumble recovery of the season
- Sam Beal interception, his second of the season & career – WMU’s seventh INT this season
- Jon Wassink to Keishawn Watson for 11-yd TD – Wassink’s 14th passing TD, Watson’s sixth receiving

- Anton Curtis career-long 19-yard reception
- RB Jarvion Franklin with four consecutive rushes on the drive, totaling 32 yards - scores on 7-yd run. WMU - 17 EMU - 10 7:04 - 3Q
- Franklin breaks WMU’s all-time rushing record on the TD drive, needed 43 yards entering today’s game. Robert Sanford held previous record of 4,219
- Franklin’s TD was his 52nd of his career, tying school overall touchdown record
- Andre Turner records his second fumble recovery of the season, fourth career
- WMU with nine fumble recoveries this season
 
FOURTH QUARTER:
- Wassink completes a pass to Eskridge, EMU's Vince Calhoun ejected for targeting.
- 9:50 left to play, Wassink sacked and forced to leave the game – freshman backup QB Reece Goddard takes over under center
- Freshman Josh Grant missed FG as time expires

OVERTIME:
- Grant connects on 21-yard FG, his second made FG of the game
- Grant's FG becomes game-winner, first game-winning FG for WMU since John Potter vs. Buffalo Oct. 24, 2009 (first overtime)

- RB Jarvion Franklin records his third-straight 100-yard rushing game, fourth this season - 19th career
- TE Donnie Ernsberger had six catches for 91 yards, both career highs
- Western Michigan has now won four straight vs. Eastern Michigan
