CLEVELAND -- Western Michigan linebacker Dominick Moon has been named the Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week after his performance in WMU's win over Monmouth on Saturday.
Moon finished with a career-high 12 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, one sack, one forced fumble and a pass breakup. His previous career-high of 7 tackles came back on Sept. 14, 2024 against Bethune Cookman.Â
Moon's impact was felt on the first play from scrimmage for Monmouth. He strip-sacked MU quarterback Frankie Weaver, with the ball bouncing out of bounds and resulting in a 3-yard loss. Moon's contributions led to the Hawks only managing 14 points on the night.
The Broncos are back in action this Saturday, heading down to Houston, Texas, to take on Rice at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
