KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan women's soccer team continued its unbeaten start to the 2026 season by earning a 0-0 draw against No. 12 Colorado on Thursday evening at the WMU Soccer Complex. The result moved WMU's record to 1-0-2 overall.
Reagan Sulaver was sensational in net, earning her first clean sheet of the season. She stopped all seven shots she saw in the match.
FIRST HALF
June Mullen had an early scoring chance for the Brown and Gold, firing a shot on frame in the ninth minute. Her attempt was swallowed up by the Colorado keeper to keep things level.
A little bit later, Sulaver made a pair of big-time saves on chances inside the box. After another Sulaver stop,
Kaiya Stewart nearly put the Broncos in front with a strong look in the 37th minute.
Down the stretch of the half, neither team would tally a shot on net. The game moved to halftime at 0-0.
SECOND HALF
Western Michigan came out energized in the second 45 minutes, getting an early chance from
Camryn Huhn. Her shot missed just over the bar. Colorado would strike back, getting a shot on Sulaver in the 52nd minute. She was there to make the save once again.
Things started to ramp up in the back half of the second 45 minutes, as Stewart and Huhn each had shots blocked out front in the 78th minute. A little bit later, the Buffaloes nearly took a late lead with a shot just to the side of the goal. Sulaver stood tall and made her seventh save of the match.
With time winding down, the Broncos had one last chance to steal a win. With under 20 seconds to play, the Brown and Gold earned a corner kick.
Meredith Vance floated the ball into the box, with
Olivia Smith getting a head on the ball. The Colorado goalkeeper sprawled out to make the save and time would expire with the game timed at 0-0.
UP NEXT
Western Michigan will be back in action on Sunday against Valparaiso. The two teams will hit the field at 1 p.m. at the WMU Soccer Complex.
