KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan women's tennis team and interim head coach Stephen Payne have announced the signing of transfer Ella Fitcher. 

Fitcher, a native of Melbourne, Australia, joins the Broncos from Sam Houston State, where she played two seasons. She was 13-10 in singles play and 10-16 in doubles play last season after seeing limited action her first season. 

"We are thrilled to welcome Ella to the Bronco tennis program," said Payne. "She's a very accomplished player that comes to WMU with a couple seasons of collegiate playing experience. She's going to fit with our team culture perfectly!"
