KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Former Western Michigan right-hander Brady Miller has signed a minor league contract with the New York Mets, becoming the fifth former Bronco currently playing for an MLB organization. Miller has been assigned to New York's High-A affiliate, the Brooklyn Cyclones.
Miller finished up his time as a Bronco in 2024, helping WMU to a 32-win season, its most since 1993, the second MAC Tournament Championship in program history and an NCAA Tournament berth. He tossed 7.0 shutout innings in Western Michigan's first game of the MAC Tournament against Ball State to earn a spot on the All-Tournament Team and then took the ball against No. 2 seed Kentucky in the opening game of the Lexington Regional. Overall, the righty made 16 starts that year, racked up a team-leading six victories and tied for second in the Mid-American Conference with 85.1 innings pitched.
A two-time All-MAC Second Team selection and a three-time Academic All-MAC honoree, Miller concluded his Western Michigan career second all-time in innings pitched (304.0), fourth in strikeouts (262) and as one of six pitchers to record at least 20 wins for the Brown and Gold.
Following his final season with the Broncos, the Plainfield, Ill., native began his professional career with the Chicago Dogs of the American Association. He went 4-0 in eight outings for Chicago, earning himself another contract with the club in 2025. During the 2025 campaign, Miller was picked up by the Acereros de Monclova of the Mexican League. He returned to Monclova for the start of the 2026 season and had made three starts before signing with the Mets.
Miller holds a pair of degrees from WMU, an undergraduate degree in Finance and an MBA.
