BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Western Michigan baseball team wrapped up its regular season road slate with a 7-5 loss at Bowling Green on Sunday afternoon.

After a scoreless first inning on both sides, Bowling Green grabbed the early advantage with a four-run second. The Falcons then tacked on one in the third and another in the fourth to extend the margin to 6-0.
The Broncos did not get much of anything going in the first five innings, but came to life in the sixth. With the bases loaded and one out,
Avery Thielman dropped in a single to plate WMU's first two runs of the contest.
Lucas Rick then followed with a three-run shot to straightaway center, his third homer of the week, to trim the gap to 6-5.
BGSU answered with one in the home half to make it a 7-5 advantage.
WMU put together a threat in the seventh after back-to-back singles by
Nolan Zajac and
Tanner Mally, but a double play turned the Broncos away.
