KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan baseball team dropped a 9-1 decision to Kent State on Saturday in the middle game of the two teams' MAC weekend series.

Kent State picked up a run in the first and four in the second to grab an early 5-0 edge.
The visitors to continued to add on in the middle frames, notching one each in the fourth and fifth and two in the seventh.
Western Michigan's offense was quiet for much of the day, but managed to get on the scoreboard in the bottom of the eighth.
Mason Pilarski drew a walk to start the frame, advanced to second on a wild pitch and then moved to third on a ground ball. With two outs,
Tanner Mally flipped a single the other way to bring Pilarski around.
