Women's Tennis Heads to Toledo and Hosts Ball State on Sunday

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan women's tennis team heads on the road to take on Toledo on Friday at 12 p.m. before returning home on Sunday to host Ball State at 12 p.m.

LAST WEEK
WMU (10-5, 1-1 MAC) picked up its first MAC win of the season after defeating Northern Illinois, 5-2, on the road. The Broncos took the doubles point and were able to go up 3-1 in singles before Lola Glantz earned the match-winning point at No. 1. The pair of Glantz and Ayana Yaguchi were named MAC Doubles Team of the Week for their contribution to the win.

SCOUTING THE ROCKETS
Toledo (7-7, 2-1 MAC) started off conference play with wins over Miami and Northern Illinois, but fell at Eastern Michigan last weekend. The Rockets are a perfect 6-0 at home this season.

SCOUTING THE CARDINALS
Ball State (7-6, 0-2 MAC) is still searching for its first MAC win of the season. BSU lost at Buffalo to open conference play and then dropped a 4-3 decision at home to UMASS last weekend. The Cardinals visit Bowling Green on Friday before traveling to Kalamazoo.

AUTOMATIC
The doubles teams of Lola Glantz/Ayana Yaguchi and Marielou Baudouin/Frida Weijerman have been automatic in the Spring for the Broncos. Both are 6-0 in dual matches and 2-0 in MAC play. Glantz and Yaguchi are 5-0 at the No. 2 slot and 1-0 at the No. 1 slot. Baudouin and Weijerman have locked down the No. 3 position, winning all six of their matches.
