ALLENDALE, Mich. -- Western Michigan had just four athletes competing at the GVSU Mike Lints Alumni Meet, but the Broncos were able to produce multiple season-best performances.
Jade Celestine got things started in the 60-meter hurdles, qualifying for the finals with a season-best time of 8.87. She followed that up by posting another season-best mark, crossing the finish line in a second-place time of 8.85.
Right after her,
Laurie-Ann Desormes competed in the 60-meter dash, posting a season-best time of 7.70 to qualify for the finals. She then bested that mark in the final, finishing second with a time of 7.66.
To conclude the day,
Anichka Malachi and
Layla Wallace battled in the long jump. Malachi won the event with a season-best leap of 5.50 meters. Wallace was strong as well, finishing fifth with a top mark of 5.12 meters.
