LAS VEGAS – The Western Michigan baseball team dropped a 16-1 decision at UNLV on Wednesday afternoon.

UNLV got its offense going early for the second straight day, picking up a pair in the bottom of the first. The Rebels then took advantage of an error to pick up five unearned tallies in the second to make it 7-0.
Western Michigan manufactured its lone run of the contest in the third.
Tanner Mally kept the frame alive with a two-out single, stole second, went to third on an error, and then scored on an RBI single by
Drew Howard.
UNLV answered, plating four in the bottom of the inning. The Rebels continued to add to their advantage from there to put the contest beyond reach.
Western Michigan continues its West Coast trip this weekend with a three-game series in Northridge, Calif., against CSUN. First pitch for game one of the series is slated for Friday night at 8 pm.
