SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Western Michigan baseball team fell to Omaha for the second straight day on Saturday, dropping a 9-4 decision on day two of the Tony Gwynn Legacy Tournament.

Omaha grabbed a 3-0 edge in the early going, plating two runs in the first and another in the second. The Mavericks then put up five in the fourth to make it 8-0.
The score remained the same until in the eighth, when Omaha picked up another two-out tally.
Western Michigan's offense had little success in the early innings, but got on the board in the eighth, when
Michael Maloney launched a three-run shot, his second of the year, to close the gap to 9-3.
With two outs in the ninth, the Broncos put together three straight knocks to push across another run, with
Tanner Mally's RBI single bringing home
Mason Pilarski.
