Women's Tennis Hosts Oakland on Saturday

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan women's tennis team returns home to host Oakland on Saturday at 12 p.m. at West Hills Athletic Club.

Admission is free.

The Broncos (4-4) were on the road in Southwest Ohio last weekend, taking on Cincinnati and Dayton. WMU battled UC to a hard-fought 5-2 loss and the rebounded with a 6-1 win against the Flyers. The match against UD was Western Michigan's first road victory of the season. Senior Audrey Smitek highlighted the weekend's action, going 2-0 at No. 3 singles and clinching the match point against the Flyers. 

The Golden Grizzlies (2-3) also picked up a win over Dayton last weekend, defeating the Flyers 5-2 on Saturday. Oakland's other victory came back on Jan. 30 at Northwood, 4-3. All three of OU's losses have come against MAC opponents, falling at Toledo, at Eastern Michigan and at Miami. 

BACK TO OHIO
Western Michigan heads back on the road and to the state of Ohio next weekend. WMU will take on Cleveland State on Saturday at 10 a.m. and then head to Youngstown State to take on YSU on Sunday at 11 a.m.
