KALAMAZOO, Mich -- Kaiya Stewart has won the MAC Offensive Player of the Week award in the final week of the regular season, while
Reagan Sulaver takes home the Goalkeeper of the Week. It is the first time either player earns the honor this season.
Kaiya was an integral piece of the Broncos team that clinched their fourth straight MAC regular season championship, an active conference record. In Thursday's game against UMass, Stewart scored both second half goals to give WMU a 4-0 victory and to push her to second place in the MAC with goals at seven. On Sunday, Kaiya added another goal and two assists in a 4-1 victory. The goal pushed her to a tie for first in the MAC in goals, while also giving her the standalone first place spot in points scored.
Sulaver was phenomenal in net in both contests, posting her sixth clean sheet of the season against UMass on Thursday. On Sunday, she stopped two of three shots on goal, finishing the week with a .800 save percentage and 0.5 GAA. Notably, out of the 14 total shots that came her way, only one of which turned into a corner kick for the opposing team.
The Broncos look to keep their offense rolling in the MAC Championship tournament, taking place in Columbus, Ohio from Nov. 7-13. With a first round bye, the Broncos first game is scheduled for 5 pm on Nov. 10.
