Women's Tennis Hosts Illinois State and GVSU for Friday Double-Header

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan women's tennis team returns home to host Illinois State and Grand Valley State in a double-header on Friday at West Hills Athletic Club beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Admission is free. The match against GVSU will start at approximately 4 p.m.

LAST WEEK
Western Michigan opened its Spring Season splitting matches with Chicago State and Notre Dame. 

The Broncos opened the weekend defeating the Cougars 7-0 at home and then head on the road and fell to the Fighting Irish by the same score. 

THE MATCH UPS
Illinois State is looking for its first win of the season after falling in a tight match to Purdue last Sunday, 4-3. GVSU's match against the Broncos will be its first since Oct. 25.

FIRST OF MANY
Last Friday's win over Chicago State was the first for interim head coach Stephen Payne. Payne is the eight head coach in program history to record a win. 

ROAD TRIP
Western Michigan is on the road for its next four matches. The Broncos take on Minnesota in DeKalb, Ill., on Saturday, Jan. 31 and then battle Michigan State in East Lansing, Mich., the next day. The Broncos then head to the University of Cincinnati on Saturday, Feb. 7, before wrapping up the road trip at Dayton on Sunday, Feb. 8.

The Broncos finally return home for a double-header on Saturday, Feb. 14 against Oakland and Purdue Northwest.
