KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The Western Michigan University Cheer and Dance programs will host a Youth Spirit Clinic on Saturday, Jan. 24, providing young fans the opportunity to learn from the Bronco spirit squads and perform during the WMU men's basketball game against Central Michigan that evening.
The clinic is open to children in kindergarten through sixth grade and will begin at 3 pm in the gymnastics room at Read Fieldhouse. Participants will receive instruction from current WMU cheerleaders and dancers, learning cheer motions, basic dance choreography and performance fundamentals in a fun, energetic environment.
As part of the experience, clinic participants will:
- Perform during timeouts at the men's basketball game against CMU
- Receive an official clinic T-shirt
- Enjoy pizza and time with WMU spirit squad members
The cost to participate is $79.50, which includes instruction, apparel, food and a game ticket. Registration is available online and will remain open through January 23, or until spots are filled.
All campers must complete required medical and concussion forms during registration.
