SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Western Michigan men's tennis team split with Duquesne and Notre Dame at UND's Eck Tennis Pavillion on Monday, with the Broncos besting the Dukes and falling to the Fighting Irish.
DUQUESNE MATCH
The Broncos rolled to a 5-0 win over the Dukes to open the day. WMU took all three doubles matches with Alex Antonopolous and
Oscar Corwin defeating Ausin Lai and Tancredi Alfano, 6-4, at No. 1.
Jack Davison and
Ashton Adesoro picked up a 6-4 win at No. 2 over Aril Kayra Tuna and Enrique Lana.
Drew Evans and
Jonas Keck getting off the court first after a 6-0 win at No. 3 over Uvan Patel and Pierce Manning.
Adesoro, Keck,
Dimitri Moriarty and
Matej Kajzer all picked up two-set wins in singles play, with the remaining two matches going unfinished.Â
NOTRE DAME MATCH
The Broncos fell to the Fighting Irish, 7-0, in their second match of the day. UND took two of the three doubles matches, with one going unfinished. In singles, all six WMU players fell in two sets. Corwin pushed 97th-ranked Perry Gregg to a tie-breaker in the opening set, while
Jack Davison did the same to Peter Nad.Â
Western Michigan is back on the road on Friday, heading to Indianapolis to take on Butler at 3 p.m.Â
