GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Western Michigan volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-16) to Northern Iowa on Friday as a part of day two of Kendall's Battle at the Capital Credit Union Classic.

Leah Richmond posted 24 assists and 12 digs to collect a double-double for the third straight match and eighth time overall this season.
Annalise Patchett paced the WMU attack with nine kills. Defensively,
Elana Erickson dug up a match-high 23 balls, and
Reeghan Boyer was in double-digits for the second straight day with 10 digs.
Molly Brown registered a team-leading five blocks.
All knotted up at 13-13 in the first, Northern Iowa put together a 5-1 run to climb in front, 18-14. After the lead got up to six, 22-16, WMU answered with five of the next seven, including fending off a pair of set points, before the Panthers put the frame away.
UNI built an 11-6 advantage in the early stages of the second set. The Broncos came right back with a 7-2 surge to draw level, 13-13. Tied again at 14-14, Northern Iowa tallied the next three points to spark a 9-2 run to go back on top, 23-16, and put the frame beyond reach.
The third frame was back and forth in the early stages, and WMU held a 14-13 edge around the midway point. Northern Iowa then proceeded to tally four consecutive points to start a 12-2 surge which sealed the set and the match.
Western Michigan wraps up play at Kendall's Battle at the Capital Credit Union Classic on Saturday at noon as it takes on Tennessee Tech.
