KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan baseball team fell to Ohio, 12-1, in the middle game of the two teams' three-game series on Friday afternoon.

Ohio got out to an early lead for the second straight day, as it picked up four in the top of the first.
The Bobcats continued to tack on, and eventually opened up a 12-0 advantage.
Western Michigan had its opportunities, leaving multiple runners on base in the second, third and fourth frames. The Broncos had runners at the corners with one out in the fifth, but were again denied after Ohio turned an inning-ending double play.
WMU pushed across its lone run of the day in the bottom of the seventh.
Tanner Mally was hit by a pitch to start the inning, advanced to second on a wild pitch, then came around to score on a two-out single by
Lucas Rick.
Western Michigan closes out the regular season with the finale of its three-game series against Ohio on Saturday, with first pitch scheduled for 1:05 pm from Robert J. Bobb Stadium at Hyames Field.
