PHILADELPHIA, Pa./ALLENDALE, Mich. -- The Western Michigan track and field team had a great weekend of competition between the Penn Relays and GVSU Extra Weekend, collecting multiple top-10 marks in school history.
Lillian Zelasko got things started at the Penn Relays, earning the second best 10K time in school history. She crossed the finish line in a time of 34:16.67. That was good for sixth in the event, among more than 25 competitors from top schools around the nation.
Moving over to the GVSU Extra Weekend, the 3K steeplechase saw the Broncos post some more elite times.
Lily Overton moved into sixth all-time in the event, notching a time of 10:53.58.
Lara Machado Pereira just missed out on cracking the top 10, posting a time of 11:10.99.
Ava Kurczewski continued her great season, recording a time of 11:04.41 in the race.
Madison Zarembski was also strong in the competition, registering a time of 11:18.45.
In the long jump,
Mimi Joseph was able to post a season-best leap of 5.40 meters. Following that,
Reagan Viau collected a time of 2:32.39 in the 800-meter run.
Layla Wallace then earned a time of 1:13.49 in the 400-meter hurdles.
To round out the day, the Broncos had a trio of runners in the 1,500-meter run.
Larissa McGrath headlined the group with a PR time of 4:49.08. Behind her was
Lauren Sancrant, who posted a time of 4:53.57.
Madison Clor finished the race with a time of 5:04.89.

The Broncos will be at the Jesse Owens Classic next weekend. That will be the final meet of the regular season before the MAC Championships.
