KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan women's tennis wraps up its non-conference schedule this Saturday with a pair of matches against UIC and Oakland. The Broncos take on the Flames at 11 a.m. and then the Golden Grizzlies at 3 p.m.
LAST WEEK
Western Michigan split matches at Illinois last Saturday, falling to the Fighting Illini, 7-0, and beating Chicago State, 4-0.
HOME SWEET HOME
The Broncos are 6-1 at home so far this season, with all seven matches played indoors at West Hills Athletic Club. Counting Saturday's pair of matches, WMU has four of its next five matches at home. The lone road trip is next Sunday at Ball State to open Mid-American Conference play.
SCOUTING THE FLAMES
UIC heads into Saturday's match with a 6-3 record so far this season. All six of the team's wins have come at home. The Flames have road losses at Northwestern (2-5), DePaul (1-4), and Indiana (0-4). UIC was most recently in action last Saturday at home, with a 7-0 win over Holy Cross College.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN GRIZZLIES
Oakland is 3-5 on the season, with all eight matches on the road. OU is fresh off a trip to California, where the team defeated the University of Redlands 5-2 and loss to UC Irvine, 7-0. The Golden Grizzlies' two other wins have come against Northwod (5-2) and at Eastern Michigan (5-2).

The Broncos open conference play on the road next Sunday at 12 p.m. against Ball State. WMU's MAC home-opener comes on Friday, March 21 against Eastern Michigan. Western Michigan then hosts Northern Illinois on Sunday at 12 p.m.
