The RedHawks answered in the bottom half, tallying one to restore the four-run margin, 5-1.

The hosts continued to add to their advantage, pushing across seven in the fifth and one in the sixth to seal the victory.

Miami struck first in the second game as well, notching a run in the bottom of the first.

The Broncos came right back in the next half inning. Connor Ostrander led off with a triple and scored on an Avery Thielman single. One out later, Chris Akers plated Thielman with a double to put WMU on top, 2-1.

Once again the RedHawks had an answer, as they came back with four in the bottom of the second.
Western Michigan loaded the bases with one out in the third, but a line drive double play ended the threat.
