CLEVELAND – Western Michigan graduate student left-hander
Reese Gaber has been named MAC Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. Gaber is the first Bronco to earn a MAC weekly honor this season.
The Stevens Point, Wis., native was dominant on the mound for the Broncos in their shutout win at Michigan last Tuesday, limiting the Wolverines to one hit over his 6.0 scoreless frames to pick up his first win for the Brown and Gold.
After allowing a one-out single in the first, Gaber did not yield a hit for the remainder of his outing and did not let any baserunners get past second base while he was on the hill. The lefty struck out a pair and retired 10 of the final 11 batters he faced to help Western Michigan to its first shutout of the season.
The Broncos take their four-game winning streak on the road on Tuesday as they visit Northwestern. First pitch is scheduled for 4 pm on
B1G+.
