STRONG START FOR SAMUELSON
After competing in just one meet during the 2024 season,
Reese Samuelson has blossomed in her sophomore season. The Marengo, Ill., native has competed on bars and beam in all five meets so far this season.
Samuelson had her first event title at the Next Level Gymnastics Podium Challenge, taking first on beam with a 9.825. She had her first-ever win on bars last weekend at Kent State. She has been incredibly consistent on bars, with four of her five scores being of at least 9.800. Because of that, Samuelson has the highest average in the MAC the event, with a 9.820. She is tied for second when it comes to the highest score on bars with her 9.875.
STILL AT THE TOP
As a team, WMU has the top average on both vault and bars in the MAC. The Broncos have averaged a 48.775 on vault and a 48.850 on bars. The team's high of 49.100 on bars ranks second, while their high of 48.850 on vault ranks third.
