Gymnastics Set to Compete at Bowling Green on Sunday

KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan gymnastics team continues Mid-American Conference competition on Sunday at Bowling Green at 2 p.m.

The Broncos head into Sunday's contest on the heels of their first MAC win of the season, a 194.825-193.975 victory over Eastern Michigan at University Arena. The Broncos had individual winners on vault, bars and floor. Senior Cassie St. Clair went on to be named MAC Specialist of the Week after her score of 9.925 on floor. WMU currently ranks 44th in the nation, improving their average to 194.504. Their team-high of 195.350 also ranks 44th

The Falcons are 0-3 against MAC competition this season and rank last in the conference in score average according to RoadToNationals.com at 192.405. The team posted their season-high score of 194.775 in a home loss to Ball State back on Feb. 2. BGSU has one of the top all-arounders in the MAC in Megan Bingham, who has averaged 38.650 and has a high of 39.075. Love Akpan ranks fourth in the conference on beam with an average and high of 9.775. 

The Broncos are back at home next Sunday, hosting Northern Illinois and Wisconsin-Whitewater for Taylor Swift Day at 1 p.m. Tickets are on-sale at www.wmubroncos.com/tickets.
