KALAMAZOO, Mich. -- The Western Michigan women's tennis team heads on the road for matches at Valparaiso on Saturday and Michigan State on Sunday.
The match between the Broncos and the Beacons starts at 3 p.m. ET, while the match against the Spartans is set for a 10 a.m. first serve.
LAST WEEK
Western Michigan split its two matches last week, picking up a win at home over Grand Valley State and then falling on the road at Notre Dame.
Against the Lakers, WMU won the doubles point and then five of the six singles points for the 6-1 victory. The Broncos then suffered their first loss of the dual match season with the 7-0 decision at Notre Dame.
SCOUTING VALPO/MSU
The Beacons opened their Spring Season last weekend, falling to reigning Ohio Valley Conference champions SIUE, 4-1. The Spartans are 2-2 with wins over Xavier and West Virginia. Sunday's match against the Broncos will be the first of a double-header, with MSU also hosting Eastern Michigan later in the day.
NEW FACES = WINS
Through five matches this season, the three new faces to WMU's lineup have made a big impact. Graduate transfers
Lola Glantz and
Christine Gouws are 3-2 and 4-1, respectively. Glantz has played all five of her matches as the Broncos' No. 1.
Freshman
Sienna Osborne is 4-1 on the season, with all five of her matches being played at No. 3.
All three have contributed in doubles as well, with all three playing in different pairings.
ON THE HORIZON
Western Michigan is off next weekend before returning home to host Youngstown State on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 11 a.m. and then Cleveland State on Sunday, Feb. 16 also at 11 a.m.
