BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- The Western Michigan University women's basketball team will clash with Mid-American Conference foe Bowling Green State University at 7:00 PM Wednesday on ESPN+. 

Last Time Out 

The Brown and Gold dropped its MAC contest at Kent State University Saturday afternoon 80-50. In the loss graduate student Hannah Spitzley paced the Broncos with 18 points, while junior Marina Asensio added 13 points and a game-high eight assists. During the contest, redshirt junior Maggie Stutelberg knocked down her 78th and 79th three-pointers of her career to move within five treys from passing Jessica Jessing (2012-16) for the 19th most threes by a Bronco in program history.

Scouting Bowling Green

BGSU is led by senior guard Amy Velasco, who is averaging a career-best 16.4 points per contest. In 17 games thus far, Velasco has scored at least 20 points on five different occasions, including a 24-point outing against No.12 Ohio State University on November 24. Overall, Velasco paces BGSU in points, assists, and rebounds on the season.  Entering the contest Wednesday evening, the Falcons carry a 9-8 record overall after back-to-back wins over Ohio University and Northern Illinois University.

Series History 

BGSU leads the overall series 43-36 dating back to 1977. The Broncos are looking to win their first contest over the Falcons since February 16, 2022.
