Lola Glantz and junior
Audrey Smitek from the Western Michigan women's tennis team have been named the Mid American Conference Women's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week.
Glantz and Smitek went 2-0 on the weekend, helping the Broncos to a 3-0 start. In the season-opener against Marquette they were slotted at No. 1 and earned a 6-4 win over Andie Weise and Tiera Jarmond. Their first match in Sunday's double-header went unfinished after WMU earned the doubles point. Later in the afternoon they lined up again at No. 1 and defeated Hillsdale's Ane Dannhauser and Megan Hackman, 6-1.
Glantz, Smitek and the Broncos are back in action this weekend, hosting Grand Valley State on Friday at 12:30 p.m. before heading to Notre Dame for an 11 a.m. match on Saturday.
