LONG BEACH, California -- After a 3-1 win over #14 University of Vermont last Thursday and a 1-0 road victory over #9 University of New Hampshire Sunday, the Western Michigan men's soccer team debuted at #7 in TopDrawerSoccer's week two national rankings.
Last night, the Brown and Gold knocked off #9 UNH behind a shutout from goalkeeper
Colin Welsh and a goal from midfielder
Connor Burkett. In the win, WMU head coach
Chad Wiseman secured victory 125 with the Brown and Gold and tied Blake Glass (1983-1997) for the most coaching wins in program history. Additionally, WMU's wins over #14 Vermont and #9 UNH extended the program's remarkable record unbeaten streak to 23 games without a loss.
Coach Wiseman will look to claim sole possession of WMU men's soccer's all-time coaching crown this Friday, August 30, when the men's soccer team returns to WMU Soccer Complex to host Akron University. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 PM. For tickets, visit wmubroncos.evenue.net/events/SOC.
