Huntsville, Ala. – Huntsville City Football Club announced today that it acquired Western Michigan men's soccer alumni
Will Perkins on a short-term loan from Union Omaha. Huntsville City FC is the MLS Next Pro reserve team of Nashville SC. Perkins will be eligible to make his debut tonight at 8 PM against Crown Legacy FC at Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium.
This past season at the collegiate level, Perkins played in 22 contests (22 starts) for the Brown and Gold and helped WMU to the sixth-best shutout percentage in the entire NCAA at 54.5%. During his 22 caps, Perkins accumulated a total of eight points from one goal and a career-high six assists en route to WMU's second consecutive Sweet 16 appearance. On September 10, 2023, Perkins would score one goal and added one assist to tally a season-best two points during WMU's 5-4 win over Dayton. At the conclusion of the 2024 regular season, Perkins earned a Missouri Valley Conference Second-Team selection for his performance on the field.
