CJ Richmond has been selected to the All-Tournament Team for the Lexington Regional of the 2024 NCAA Tournament. The All-Tournament Team was voted on by media who attended the regional, and announced after its completion late Sunday night.
Richmond hit an even .300 (3-for-10) during the regional, drilling a pair of doubles and driving in three runs for the Broncos. In the opener against No. 2 Kentucky, the Indianapolis native picked up an RBI in the five-run fifth and plated two more with a double in the sixth to bring Western Michigan to within two. The next day against Indiana State, he collected a double and scored a run in the fifth, then added a base hit in the ninth to tie WMU's single-season record for total bases with 142.
For the season, Richmond led the MAC in OPS (1.146), tied for the most doubles (18) and finished second in the conference in batting average (.380), on-base percentage (.479) and RBIs (67). He ranked third in the conference in hits (81) and fourth in both slugging percentage (.667) and total bases (142).
