KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan redshirt senior right-hander
Brady Miller dealt 7.0 strong innings on Friday as the Broncos knocked off Kent State, 7-5, to secure the series victory over the Golden Flashes. It is the sixth straight MAC home series victory for WMU.

Miller limited the Golden Flashes to three runs on just three hits over a season-high 7.0 innings of work. The righty racked up a season-high seven strikeouts on the way to collecting his second victory of the season.
Kent State opened the scoring for the second consecutive day, tallying a pair in the top of the second.
Western Michigan came right back with two of its own in the home half of the frame, as
Greg Budig raced home on a wild pitch and
Josh Swinehart scored on a passed ball.
The Broncos then grabbed the lead in the third when
CJ Richmond notched a two-out, RBI double down the left field line to bring
Jackson Kitchen home. In the fourth,
Brendan Harrity drove a single to the opposite field which brought Budig around to extend the margin to 4-2.
The Golden Flashes pulled back to within a run in the fifth, but Miller ended the frame with a strikeout to avoid further damage.
Miller's strikeout to end the fifth frame was part of a run which saw the righty retire the final nine Golden Flashes he faced.
Western Michigan extended its advantage to three in the sixth, as
Grady Mee launched a two-run homer. It was the second straight game with a homer for Mee, who also tied his career high with three hits for the second consecutive day.
Hayden Berg made it 12 straight Kent State batters retired by WMU pitching as he set the Golden Flashes down in order in the top of the eighth.
The Broncos picked up an insurance run in the home half of the eighth, as Budig homered to center. It was the final of Budig's three runs scored in the contest, which equaled his career high.
The Golden Flashes scored a pair in the top of the ninth to close the gap to 7-5, and brought the tying run to the plate. The Broncos turned things over to
Turner Doran, who induced a ground ball to slam the door and earn his second save of the campaign.
