Kouki, Glenn, Spitzley, and Saxman Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Redshirt sophomore Artemis Kouki, junior Kaiden Glenn, and seniors Hannah Spitzley and Gabi Saxman were selected to the 2023-24 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team®. The 2023-24 season marked the second consecutive year that the women's basketball team featured four Broncos on the Academic All-District Team®.

The redshirt sophomore Kouki, is pursuing a Human Resource Management degree. This past semester, Kouki produced a 4.0 GPA in the classroom and saw a career year on the court posting personal bests across the board: Kouki would see career highs in field goals made, three-point field goals made, and free throws made.

Pursuing a Pre-Accountancy degree, Glenn grabbed her first Academic All-District honor with WMU by posting a 4.0 GPA this past fall. During the 2023-24 season, Glenn made a career-best 19 three-pointers on a 38% clip from distance.

Spitzley, majoring in Exercise Science, would also perform exceptionally in the classroom after earning a 3.83 GPA this past fall. The senior would also see a career year on the court by making a personal-best 39 three-pointers from beyond the arch. Spitzley would also shoot 31.71% from three, marking a career-high for the senior.

Saxman, pursuing an Early Childhood Education degree, earned a 3.79 GPA in the classroom during the first semester. Saxman snatched 43 steals this past season, her second-highest steals output in a single season. Saxman's 43 steals in 2023-24 propelled the senior to a career total of 128 swipes, which ranks 19th all-time in WMU women's basketball history.

With their selections, Spitzley and Saxman grabbed Academic All-District honors for the second straight season. This week, the duo became the first pair of Bronco teammates in program history to earn All-District nods in back-to-back years.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First, second, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on April 16.

The 2023-24 Academic All-District® Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
