CLEVELAND, Ohio -- After a stand-out season at Western Michigan, graduate student Kaitlyn Zarycki has been named to the 2024 All-MAC Second Team and MAC All-Defensive Team.

In the 2023-24 regular season, Zarycki led the Broncos offensively after scoring 540 points, which ranks as the fifth largest output offensively in a single season for the WMU women's basketball program. Additionally, Zarycki's 540 points marked her second-best single-season scoring output: Last year at Saginaw Valley State, the guard put up 554 points in 26 contests for the Cardinals. 

During the regular season campaign, Zarycki's 18.6 points per game ranked 42nd in the nation and second in the MAC. The guard shot an incredible 52.9% from the field, averaging 12.4 attempts per game and 50% from three (2.3 attempts per game) in 29 games played for the Broncos. Beyond the arch, Zarycki's 50% clip from distance led all players percentage wise in the conference who averaged at minimum 2.3 three point attempts per game. Defensively, Zarycki led the Brown and Gold with 1.9 steals during the 2023-24 campaign, which ranked tied for fourth in the MAC.
 
Heading into the MAC Tournament, the 5-8 guard from Niles, Michigan, has been on fire over her last 11 games: Zarycki has averaged 18.5 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.5 three-pointers per game on a 57.2% clip from distance. 

In addition to her plethora of single-season accolades, Zarycki is the only player in the MAC to finish the regular season averaging at least 18 points, while producing 3.5 assists, and 1.9 steals per game.  

Zarycki and the Broncos will begin postseason play in the MAC Tournament on Wednesday, March 13, at 11:00 AM against Toledo on ESPN+.
