CHICAGO – The Western Michigan men's tennis team picked up a 5-2 win at DePaul on Saturday afternoon, extending the team's winning streak to five matches.
The Blue Demons took the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2, with the third match going unfinished.
Freshman
Adrian Quiros tied the match up at 1-1 with a win over Elias Anwar at No. 6. Quiros won the first set 6-1 and Anwar retired in the second set.
Anton Arzhankin gave the Broncos the lead, 2-1, with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 2 over Matteo Iaquinto but DePaul tied it back up at 2-2 when Leon Huck defeated
Benjamin George 7-6 (10-6), 6-4 at No. 1.
Jackson Boone got the lead back for the Broncos with a 6-3, 7-6 (10-6). Freshman
Matej Kajzer clinched the match win for Western Michigan after defeating Sven Moser 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 at No. 5. Fellow freshman
Ashton Adesoro picked up WMU's fifth and final point with a 2-6, 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 3.
The Broncos are back in action on Sunday morning against Navy.
