PHOENIX – A day after setting the program's career record, Western Michigan senior first baseman
Cade Sullivan homered again on Sunday in a 6-2 loss to Michigan at Camelback Ranch Stadium in Phoenix, Ariz.

Both teams had opportunities in the early innings, but the game remained scoreless until Michigan tallied three runs, two of which were unearned, in the bottom of the fourth.
The Wolverines maintained their 3-0 advantage until the sixth, when Sullivan got the Broncos on the board with a solo home run, his second of the season and the 30th of his Western Michigan career.
Michigan answered with a tally in the home half of the frame to restore its three-run cushion, 4-1.
WMU put of a pair of runners on base in the eighth to bring the tying run to the plate, but was turned away. The Wolverines then added a pair of insurance runs in the last of the eighth to extend their lead to 6-1.
Connor Ostrander started the ninth inning with a pinch-hit walk, then moved to third on a
Greg Budig double.
Brendan Harrity brought Ostrander home to trim the margin to 6-2, but Michigan closed the door from there to ensure the weekend series split.
The Broncos head out west again next weekend as they travel to Malibu, Calif., for a four-game series at Pepperdine. First pitch for Friday's series opener is slated for 4:30 pm.
