Women’s Basketball Announces Alli Carlson Is Out For Remainder of Season

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan women's basketball sophomore Alli Carlson and head coach Shane Clipfell announced that the guard will be shut down for the remainder of the season due to an injury sustained on January 17, against Ohio University.

"Alli's injury was a big hit for her and our team, but we know she's a fighter and she will bounce back from this. We will support her through the entire process. Alli still has a very valuable role to play for this team and she is already embracing that." said Clipfell.

Carlson helped lead the Brown and Gold to their first six wins this season. In 15 games (15 starts), Carlson averaged 5.6 points, 3.5 assists, 1.1 steals, and posted an assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.4 to 1, all career bests for the guard. Carlson would also average career highs in field goal, free throw, and three point percentage.

"I appreciate the support I am getting from this team. I'm looking forward to getting back to the court with them," said Carlson, "The coaches have talked to us all season about how we all have different roles to play. My role has changed but my entire focus will be on that and the rehab in front of me."
