COLLEGE STATION, TX. -- The Western Michigan University women's basketball team begins its two-game road trip Sunday at Texas A&M at 3:00 PM ET on SECN+.

The Brown and Gold began the 2024-25 campaign with a 61-52 home victory over Arkansas State University behind a 21-point fourth quarter in which WMU shot a blistering 72.23% from the field. In the win, Broncos Hannah Spitzley, Vinyet Morato, and Artemis Kouki combined for 38 points on an efficient 13-20 from the field.
Spitzley is on track to become the 18th Bronco in program history to knock down at least 100 career three-pointers. In the win over Arkansas State, Spitzley improved her career three-point total to 87 made from behind the line after sinking two treys on an efficient 40% clip from distance.
Junior transfer Marina Asensio made an immediate impact in her debut with WMU: Asensio tied her career high of seven assists and added eight points and four rebounds in The Brown and Gold's victory.
Scouting Texas A&M
The Aggies enter Sunday's matchup with a 1-1 record after losing to A&M Corpus-Christi 62-56 on Monday, November 4, and defeating The University of Texas at San Antonio 55-51 this past Thursday. Graduate student Sahara Jones paces the Aggies with 11 points and eight rebounds per game to begin the 2024-25 campaign. Jones scored a season-high 16 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead the way in Texas A&M's victory over UTSA.
